Miette en Provence
Summer in the south of France evokes thoughts of sipping Pastis in lively town squares, rolling fields of lavender, the abundance of rosé, and (of course) the many delicious incarnations of salty anchovies and plump tomatoes.
This is how the French do summer, and we’re bringing it to you for one afternoon on the terrace, on Saturday 22 February, from 12pm - 4pm.
Rosé is one of the beating hearts of Provence. There, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Syrah, and Tibouren grapes thrive in the warm Mediterranean climate. Grown in sun-kissed vineyards, cooled by coastal breezes, these grapes produce pink wines, full of bright fruit character. From the bold, structured wines of the Bandol region to the delicate wines of Côtes de Provence, each bottle tells a story of terroir and tradition. Rosé is more than a summer wine — it's a state of mind, capturing the soul of Provence in every glass.
On pour —
This Saturday, we’re pouring the rare 2022 Château Galoupet, an estate with over 300 years of history. This esteemed producer has a legacy deeply rooted in its status as one of the historic Cru Classé estates of Côtes de Provence — and we’re proud to be one of only a few restaurants in Australia to offer its rosé.
Also making a special appearance will be rosés from the iconic houses of:
Whispering Angel by Château d’Esclans
Clos Cibonne
Petit Coup de Génie
Domaine Ray Jane
Garrus by Château d’Esclans
The menu —
Alongside our regular menu, Saturday afternoon will be brimming with Provençal favourites:
Pissaladière
Salad niçoise
Fougasse with tapenade
Grilled red snapper & aioli
With river views and music in the air, come raise a glass with us and soak up the essence of Provence. Reservations encouraged, walk-ins warmly welcomed.
